What is Food Insecurity?

The condition of not having access to sufficient food or adequate quality to meet one's basic needs. This is not limited to the houseless, but your neighbor, co-worker, friend, or family.

Our Vision:
Our ambitious goal for 2024 is to provide 100,000 free meals to those in need. With your partnership, we can turn this vision into reality. Your contribution will directly impact lives, create opportunities, and foster a sense of unity within our community.

Food Insecurity Facts: In Portland, Oregon, and across the United States, food insecurity remains a pressing issue. According to recent studies, According to statistics, around 77,000 individuals in Portland (equivalent to 11.8% of the population) suffer from food insecurity.

Our Approach: At Feed the Mass, we are committed to providing meals and building a foundation for stronger communities. Every $8 meal feeds an individual and supports 30 organizations with 50 free meals each week, fostering a network of collaboration and empowerment.

Job Creation and Training: Our initiative addresses hunger, creates sustainable jobs, and offers job training to youth and young adults in our community. This dual impact ensures that we're not just filling stomachs but also paving the way for brighter futures.
